If you can lose the quarantine nineteen, this article isn’t for you, go eat another cookie. Just kidding. No, eat two. You can run it off or fast or whatever works for you.
This is for those who’ve struggled ALL our lives. We can lose, but we gain it back. Eventually, we just give up. We’re lazy, unmotivated, or don’t have any willpower. You’ve heard it all before and so have I. But you don’t have to accept that!
Understand it as a disease instead and avoid past failures
It’s a disease according to the Mayo Clinic:
“Obesity is a…
Seventy-five years ago this month, the first evictions began in our villages. German speakers were stripped of their citizenship and their possessions. Allowed only 50 Kg, they packed up what they could carry and left their homes and their past.
The expulsions of Germans from Hungary were dictated from outside the nation. A form of retribution for war crimes. The crime of these women and children and elderly men? Speaking German as your native language.
Growing up, this was an accepted part of family history. Only I didn’t understand the story and the pain from leaving their home. I never…
If your goal is to be debt-free, what assets could you sell to catapult you out of debt? Rental houses are a great income, no doubt about that. But when you still owe on a rental and have personal debt besides you might want to decide wants more critical.
If you like being a landlord, then maybe this isn’t an option for you. If you become a landlord out of default, now’s the time! Turn That Rental House into a Cash Cow!
If you’ve been working your debt-free plan and trying to hang on to a rental property, have you…
You’ve seen the opt-in emails from some of the top writers, sign up here to learn what I do and how you can do it too and make lots of money. Blah. Blah. Blah. Don’t kid yourself, they’re in it for themselves, not you!
These classes are made for the masses, not individually tailored for you. In one class I took, the writer took our money first, then created the class and bragged about it. The only thing that came from that class, was a great new friend and writing buddy.
She shared an article with me, where I learned…
January 19th marked the 75th anniversary of the expulsion of ethnic Germans from Budaors, Hungary, following World War II. This period of history is little-known outside of Europe except for those who experienced it but rarely talked about it.
In the period between 1944 and 1950, an estimated 12 million ethnic Germans fled or were expelled from Eastern Europe. Expellees had minutes’ notice to pack up what few belongings they could and crowd into cattle cars headed for the unknown. They had little food or water, many traveled for nine days. Many didn’t survive.
The other day someone asked what work I do. “I’m a production planner. I plan production.” She politely nodded her head and made a note.
Yeah, she had no idea about what I do twelve hours a day from that. We define ourselves by our work, so why do we minimize it? Most of us handle multiple roles; why do we settle on the one title we use by our day job and not the one that makes us happy?
Now, if I had said I’m a writer, that sparks interest in people. Does it matter that I’m not making…
I’ve been writing on Medium for eleven months. While most of the top writers are complaining, I keep my head down and my fingers tapping away at the keyboard. My views are up, which was the only direction they could go unless I stopped writing completely.
You have two choices:
Complain or keep working. We promote our work and we’re only as good as our last story. Writers want to attract more readers. Why not stop chasing them, and let them find you? Stay consistent, persistent, and methodical about your work.
I recently reviewed other writer profiles. A top writer…
Flow state is a fancy term for a caffeine buzz. This isn't anything new and improved.
We have to show up and not wait until the mood strikes us. I agree with 100%
Yes. I agree. I do think flow state is a real thing, but you certainly can not deliberately lower the quality of your work until you get into a flow state. You have to be able to do good work regardless of whether you are in a flow state or not. Consistency is the most important thing.
Just imagine if we did this at our 9 to 5 jobs? You just WORK, you don't have to prepare yourself to get into some kind of ridiculous flow state. You do the work. Be consistent and persistent and do the work.
By having zero expectations, I beat procrastination. Thinking about starting work creates resistance. What you’re really doing is preparing yourself to meet a standard, not start work. When your quality standards for your work are too high, you take longer to start work.
This is a powerful article, thanks for sharing this. You have to do the work for yourself, because no one will do it for you.
My sister would always say "it's not fair." My mom responded "Life isn't fair, get over it."
Don't let it take control of you, you have to do the work yourself.
I’m done with this narrative. I don’t care if it costs me money. I could make more by telling you what you wanted to hear, that society is out to get you and that you’re a helpless victim, but then I’d have to lose my soul in the process.
